Selinsgrove Football 2017 Season

PA Football News and the MaxPreps season header both list 2017 at 11-3. MaxPreps stars a 4-1 league line. Derek Hicks was the coach. District 4 lists Selinsgrove as the 2017-18 Class 4A champion.

The regular-season game at Shikellamy was a 26-28 loss. The Nov. 10 playoff game at Shikellamy was a 34-0 win. Entering that district final, the Daily Item had Selinsgrove leading the series 31-27. The story says Shikellamy's only district title to that point had come against the Seals in 2010.

After the 34-0 win, MaxPreps lists a 37-3 win over Bellefonte and a 32-33 loss to Bethlehem Catholic.

The Sun-Gazette, after the June 2018 District 4 all-star game, says Logan Leiby threw for 3,774 yards and 42 touchdowns in the fall of 2017, both single-season district records, on the team that won Class 4A and reached a state quarterfinal. A Sept. 29, 2017 preview, written before that week's Jersey Shore game, already called him the district career leader in yards and touchdowns, with 1,391 yards and 14 scores to that point. The same preview has Selinsgrove beating Berwick 17-6 the week before, after trailing by three.
