Selinsgrove Football 2022 Season

PA Football News lists 2022 at 9-3 under Derek Hicks. The EasternPAFootball district-final story has the same final record. District 4 lists Jersey Shore as the 2022-23 Class 4A champion.

MaxPreps has the Week 3 game at home as a 0-63 loss to Jersey Shore, and a 35-7 win over Shikellamy on Sept. 23. The same schedule has a 0-19 loss at Mifflinburg on Sept. 30. Derek Hicks told EasternPAFootball the season turned after that Mifflinburg loss.

Cody Smith's story, dated Sept. 24, is the Sept. 23 Rally at Harold L. Bolig Memorial Field. Selinsgrove won 35-7. The Seals led 7-0 at the half and scored 28 in the fourth. Quarters were 0, 7, 0, 28 and 0, 0, 0, 7. Tucker Teats ran 30 times for 189 yards and two scores. Jarrod Bullington had 104 yards on six carries. Mark Pastore was 6 of 10 for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Chase Morgan returned the kickoff 91 yards for Shikellamy's score. Selinsgrove was 4-1. Shikellamy was 1-4.

The district final was Thursday, Nov. 10, at Jersey Shore. The Bulldogs won 35-7. Matt Beltz's story, dated Nov. 13, says Selinsgrove held Jersey Shore to 103 yards and four first downs in the first half and finished with 115 yards and seven first downs. Tate Sechrist returned a Mark Pastore fumble 39 yards for the first score. Brady Jordan ran for 170 yards and scores of 44 and 58 yards. Hadyn Packer scored from 3 and 59 yards. Pastore's 1-yard run in the fourth quarter, after a 26-yard run by Tucker Teats, was the Seals' score. The story says this was Jersey Shore's fourth straight playoff win over Selinsgrove, dating to the 2018 district final, and that the teams had met 19 times since 2013, with Jersey Shore ahead 11-8 in that stretch after this game.

MaxPreps lists a 30-0 win at Milton on Nov. 4, the Friday before the final. The EasternPAFootball story calls that a semifinal upset of a higher-seeded Milton team and does not print the score.
