Head coach Harold Bolig. No district-championship table for this year is on the District 4 list, which starts its surviving football table in 1986-87.
PA Football News lists 1927 at 9-0. It is Harold Bolig's first season on that table. The next two lines are 8-0 in 1928 and 8-0-2 in 1929.
The alumni hall of fame says Bolig, class of 1922, was born Feb. 14, 1904, in Monessen, lettered three years in football, basketball, and baseball at Susquehanna, class of 1926, spent a year teaching at Duncannon, and came back in 1927 to teach science and coach. The same page says the football team went 27-0-3 in his first thirty games and gives his full coaching record as 60-54-14. PA Football News lists 1927 through 1942 at 61-58-13. Both totals are on those pages. This season page does not split the 27-0-3 into single years.
