A second shot at Shikellamy
No. 4 Selinsgrove goes to No. 1 Shikellamy in the District 4 Class 4A semifinal on Friday at 7 p.m.
Selinsgrove (3-7) is in the District 4 Class 4A field as the No. 4 seed. The Seals play at No. 1 Shikellamy (9-1) on Friday at 7 p.m.
Shikellamy won the first meeting 40-13 on Oct. 9 at Bolig Field. The Braves closed the regular season with a 42-21 win over Danville. Their only loss was 37-0 at Shamokin.
Selinsgrove has lost its last two, to Tamaqua 27-18 and Southern Columbia 49-19. Three wins is still two more than last fall’s team managed.
Win, and the Seals play for the title on Nov. 13 or 14 against the winner of No. 3 Jersey Shore (5-5) at No. 2 Shamokin (8-2). Selinsgrove lost to both in September, 49-7 at Jersey Shore and 42-0 at Shamokin. The district has not announced the final’s site.
